When the client commissioned a competition amongst six of the North West's leading architectural practices; little did Christopher know that he would eventually take over the project and see it through to completion.

The property at "Oakley" is situated in the village of Bowden in Cheshire and is purported to have been designed by W. Augustus Pugin, although there is reason to believe that one of his two architect children may have completed the house.

After completing an extensive survey and design analysis at his own expense Christopher was soon appointed on a design and build basis to complete the project. Which included the main house, the orangery, link accommodation, garaging; servant's quarters in the gate-house and swimming pool. The latter incorporated an original listed folly.

Regretfully serious mistakes by the original architects and builders meant much of their orginal work had to be dissmantled and re-worked.

As with all of his commissions Christopher was engaged on a fixed price contract and despite the meticulous attention to detail demanded by the client.
